In 2022, I was feeling lonely and isolated — so I decided to take part in a writing retreat. During the retreat, there was a session on poetry writing and I remembered a childhood full of little whimsical writings. It was the spark that I needed! Over the next year I found myself writing more and more. It’s been a bright spot to form friendships and community with other writers from all corners of the world.

I am now in the process of writing my first collection of poetry! The poems center the story of moving back to the prairies and moving into my grandparents vacant farm house, which sat empty for ten years. The poems live at an intersection between memory, grief, love, beauty, and celebration of prairie landscapes.
