Renewing Rains at Salmon Cove Sands | Original Acrylic Painting

CA$150.00
Only 1 available

This painting was created en plein air or on location at Salmon Cove Sands.

Salmon Cove Sands was one of the few stretches of coastline that held a sandy beach in Newfoundland (most were pebble beaches - which the locals call ‘land washes’). This crescent shaped beach overlooked a unique island, complete with it’s own sea arch. This painting was finished in an absolute downpour, where I ended up hunched over the piece to try and protect it from the heavy rains. The wind flung sand around, some of which mixed into the paints. This painting will carry a part of Salmon Cove Sands with it wherever it goes.

This acrylic painting was created on handcrafted paper, using saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean to mix the colours. The painting measures approximately 5x7 inches and features deckled edges.
