Awakening Light at Bareneed | Original Acrylic Painting

CA$150.00
Only 1 available

This painting was created en plein air or on location at Bareneed.

The residency at Bareneed had the most lovely deck that looked out onto the ocean. Unlike most homes in Newfoundland that are set back from the water’s edge, the artist residency was so close to the water that the deck was partially supported by stilts on the shore. This painting was completed in the evening, as the sun had just begun to set throwing purple hues against the stark white clouds. The water was such a dark blue that at first glance it almost appeared black.

This acrylic painting was created on handcrafted paper, using saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean to mix the colours. The painting measures approximately 5x7 inches and features deckled edges.
